Make Your Own Cautionary Tale

Directions:

As a class, decide on a children's story to "re-write" like the story from the other day.  Once the story has been chosen, re-write it into a cautionary tale about being a good citizen.  Either you (as the teacher) can write it on the white board, or have the students help write it down.  Once finished, re-read the whole story to make sure all parts make sense.  To add a fun element, have the 3-5 grades read the stories and vote on their favorite.

Citizenship Day 17

After reciting the Rotary Four Way Test, have students participate in the following exercise that focuses on the social skills relating to story from the other day.  If needed, give the students a synopsis of the story.
